PEMC is a core facility within the University of Plymouth, supporting teaching, research and industrial collaborations locally, nationally and with international partners. We have a range of electron microscopes (SEM, TEM & FIB-SEM) equipped with an array of analytical techniques (EDS, WDS, EBSD, TKD, STEM & CL), as well as dedicated sample preparation equipment for both life and physical sciences, and engineering.

We are also currently running the flagship Plymouth Materials Characterisation Project, a £1.7 million EU-funded project allowing industry collaboration with University of Plymouth students and academics.

This post sits within an interdisciplinary team of dedicated electron microscopists whom support teaching, research, and development within the Faculty of Science & Engineering, as well as with the Peninsula Medical & Dental schools and our partner colleges.
